Blossom Organics Natural Moisturizing Lubricant

Finding a good lubricant is an absolute must for any avid toy user and for those who enjoy sexual pleasure in general. ‘Good lubricant’ is a pretty broad term, so let me tell you what I look for in a lube. I want a water based lubricant that doesn’t stain, doesn’t smell, isn’t sticky, is free of parabens and glycerin, and lasts at least longer than a couple thrusts with a toy or a penis. That doesn’t sound like a lot to demand in my opinion, but trust me…there are plenty of duds out there. My current bottle of lube was starting to run a little low so I was so happy when Good Vibrations, a retailer with sex toys for women, offered the Blossom Organics Natural Moisturizing Lubricant for review.

As always, the product arrived in a plain, unmarked package that had no mention of sex toys or the company to give away what was inside.   The lubricant came in a box from Blossom Organics which is light purple and white.  The front has the company name and that this is the ‘Natural Moisturizing Lubricant’ in English and in French.  One side of the box lists the ingredients while the other high-lights some of the positive aspects of this lubricant.  The back of the box has directions in English and in French as well as a little about the product.    So, what are the ingredients you ask? According to the box, they are: Organic aloe barbadensis leaf extract, sorbitol, hydroxyethylcellulose, hyaluronic acid, organic stevia rebaudiana extract, tocopherol (vitamin E), sodium citrate, potassium sorbate, organic extracts of paeonia albiflora (peony) root & passiflora incarnata flower.  NO PARABENS and NO GLYCERIN, hooray!  In addition to being absent these unpleasant ingredients (glycerin can cause yeast infections, dry skin, and irritation while parabens have been linked with breast cancer) this lubricant is also latex-friendly, which I can attest to.

The tube of lubricant is just under 7 inches long and 2 inches wide at the widest point. It holds 4 fluid ounces of lubricant and has a flip top that is great for standing up and doesn’t leak when laid on its side. The only information on the tube is the directions for usage in English and French on the back and the front has the name of the product. The lubricant itself is clear, odorless and tasteless. It isn’t the thickest lube I’ve tried but isn’t super watery either. It will run slowly down your toy if you hold it upright for a little while after lubrication. I applied about a dime size amount on the tip of my finger and it reached the base of my finger within about 30 seconds. The more spread out it is, the slower it moves. I tested the lube rubbing it between my finger and thumb and it was a little over 3 minutes before it felt like it was starting to absorb into the skin. When used with a dildo (Vixen Creations Leo) and during sex with a partner, the natural lubricant of my body combined with Blossom Organics helped it last longer.  I was able to use my dildo for two (back to back) masturbation sessions before needing to reapply.  When used in sex, my partner appreciated that Blossom Organics didn’t leave his hand sticky after application when he wiped his hand on a towel, as opposed to some other lubricants.  He did feel, however, that it absorbed faster than other lubricants he has tried.  We did not try this lubricant for anal sex, though I think it would probably work pretty well for that as well so long as you apply liberally.

I haven’t experienced any adverse reactions to this lubricant and actually found it quite enjoyable to use.  It will definitely be kept in the rotation while I continue my search for the perfect lubricant.  You can buy Blossom Organics Natural Moisturizing Lubricant at Good Vibrations and have it safely and discreetly delivered to your door if it sounds like the lube for you. Thank you Good Vibrations for the opportunity to try this lubricant out!
