VLube Water-based Lubricant

The quest for the ultimate lube continues and this time it takes us to PinkCherry.com and VLube Water-Based Lubricant.  Of course, I prefer water-based lubes because I use so many silicone products but VLube also makes a silicone version.  My bottle is 2 oz and comes with a flip top lid.

For me, ingredients are just as important as how well a lube works.  There are some ingredients that can cause side effects like yeast infections (glycerin) or that are even linked with certain types of cancer (parabens).  You should always be aware of what you are going to be putting on and in your body, especially such delicate parts as your genitals.  That being said, this lube is almost perfect in respect to ingredients.  Almost…because it contains glycerin.  Here’s the whole list of what it contains:

Purified Water (eau purifee), Propylene Glycol, Glycerin (vegetable/legume), Hydroxyethylcellulose, Linocera Caprifolium, and Linocera Japonica extracts (honeysuckle/chevrefeuille)

The bottle does say that VLube is ‘dermatologically tested’, gentle on skin, hypoallergenic, and paraben free.  So, the only less preferable thing in this lube is the glycerin which can cause some women to get yeast infections if they are sensitive to it.  I don’t usually have that problem and did not with this lube.

I did however give this lube a thorough workout testing it both vaginally and anally with silicone, wood, and skin to skin contact.  This is kind of a watery lube in the bottle and when dispensed but once I spread it on toys it didn’t run or drip.  It has no odor and a slightly sweet taste (from the glycerin).  During use on toys it kept things sliding and gliding easily.  When skin to skin contact is involved it absorbs more quickly but natural lubrication keeps it from being too fast.  When I tested a small amount between my fingers it began to absorb within 30 seconds, though that is without any other moisture being applied.  And when I was all done it washes away easily with soap and water.

I’d have to say that this lube definitely ranks in my top 4 or 5 lubes, easily.  I like how it feels in use and don’t have any negative experiences from the glycerin.  This is a great option if you’re looking for a new lube.  I definitely plan on using this bottle up and replacing it with more!
