Doc Johnson’s Platinum Silicone Realistic 6″ Dildo

I always try to include products in my blog that range in price because people have different amounts of money they can spend on sex toys.  Toys that are made from quality products like silicone get bonus points.  Just because you may not have a wad of cash to drop on a sex toy doesn’t mean you should use sub-par materials on your vag.  So, when I saw the Platinum Silicone 6″ Cock Realistic Dildo I thought I may have found a decent option.

The name is actually a little misleading.  The dildo itself from base to tip is actually 6.5 inches long and the insertable portion is 5.5 inches long.  Not sure where the ‘6 inch’ thing comes from.  The base makes this a harness compatible toy but I prefer to use the balls as a handle for thrusting.  The diameter doesn’t match the product’s reality either. The shaft is kind of oval shaped so one measure shows it to be 1 7/8 inches in diameter and another measures at 1 3/4 inch.  The product description says 1.5 inches, so its actually a little more girthy than advertised.

It actually looked promising with the raised wrinkles or veins for texture and the balls as a nice handle.  The head has a nice girth and pops nicely on insertion.  The silicone is firm but has some give.  It has sparkles, which is oddly a ‘pro’ for me.  The purple color is ok, not my favorite but something I could live with.  But I don’t love it.

The raised bumpy side feels great, not too much texture but still noticeable.  I actually liked that side.  The problem comes from the other side, the side that makes this an oval shaped dildo.  It isn’t rounded or smooth but more of a raised ridge, which even though it is made of the same semi-squishy silicone is uncomfortable.  That ridge makes me feel like I’m rubbing a very dull rubbery knife along my vaginal entry.  It just rubs unpleasantly.  I tried using it with the balls facing up and the balls facing down, and neither way is very awesome.  It doesn’t make it completely unusable, but if you have other options (like the Tantus Acute or Tantus Echo) you’ll probably choose them over this dildo.

As far as caring for this dildo, you can boil it for sterilization or wash with warm water and anti-bacterial soap between uses. It does attract lint and hair so it should be cleaned before use. Using a storage bag will help minimize lint and hair exposure.

FunWares has tons of options for dildos. This may not be the best one, but they definitely have a great selection of body-safe materials that are at available at great prices. FunWares always ships quickly and discreetly in plain brown boxes as well.

Thanks to FunWares for providing this product free for an honest review!
